Join Me on a Groundbreaking All-Women Scientific Expedition to Antarctica

In early 2026, I’ll join Sea Women Expeditions (SWX) — a women-led, self-funded scientific mission to Antarctica. ​Selected from over 400 applicants, I’ll be part of a 25-woman crew retracing parts of Shackleton’s route through the Falklands, South Georgia, Elephant Island, the Antarctic Peninsula, and the Polar Circle.

​🔬 Why This Expedition Matters

•  All-Women, Multidisciplinary Team: Our international crew includes Indigenous knowledge holders, scientists, divers, artists, and me, an archaeologist. Together, we celebrate diversity, equity, and collaboration in extreme science.

• Pioneering Polar Research & Cultural Documentation: Pending research permits, we'll collect eDNA, plankton, invertebrates, and cultural heritage data. We’ll also conduct global outreach, including a live broadcast for International Women’s Day from Antarctica.

• Live Global Educational Impact: With satellite internet on board, we’ll connect directly with classrooms and youth groups — delivering real-time discoveries, Q&As, and Women in STEM stories from the edge of the Earth.

We’ll conduct climate and ocean research while producing outreach content to

inspire future generations, especially young people underrepresented in science.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment in my career. As an archaeologist, media producer, and science communicator, I’m going to: 

• Contribute archaeological and heritage insights to a marine science mission

• Amplify women’s voices in STEM, exploration, and leadership

• Create compelling digital, educational and broadcast-quality to uplift global audiences​

💸 Why I Need Your Help

Unlike institutionally funded missions, this is a self-funded, volunteer-led expedition. To secure my place, I need to raise £35,000–£40,000, covering:
   •    Expedition fees, vessel hire, and research permits
   •    International travel, port logistics, insurance
   •    Cold-weather and diving gear
   •    Media equipment and outreach production costs
